ps i caught white arrow's last residency evening at spaceland and what fun it was! they are a cali-based band made up of mickey, rob banks, steven vernet , j.p. caballero, damon, brother henry. their keyboard infused rock sound filled spaceland's tiny walls and ended with a bunch of drunken revellers on stage! ps as soon as a saw the post that grouplove was playing at spaceland ... i was there. i recently saw them open for phosphorescent at the troubadour and thought that this is a band to watch for! to see additional photos from the troubadour show: http://creepingelm.blogspot.com/2010/08/grouplove-troubadour-72710.html
i was even more excited to catch them play at a smaller venue such as spaceland! this show rocked! they have a damn good time playing together and the crowd joined in their love as one big celebration. it was a packed house and while everyone screamed the lyrics we danced as if it were "a dance off your dress kind of evening!" they are heading out on tour so go see them! no excuses not to see this best new band!

ps short notice, but I took a trip to spaceland to catch summer darling play for their last residency show. watched them 2 weeks prior and knew i had to make it back to see them again! i am glad that i did because a new discovery for myself was awaiting, TS and The Past Haunts. it was travis shettell on vocals and lead guitar, ben heywood (vocalist from summer darling) playing the drums, and heather b. heywood (bassist and vocals from summer darling) on vocals and bass. they describe their music as dirty rock! sounded dirty to me. "Whatever is your favorite, that's what we are," stated on their facebook page. surprise.... a pinata filled with chocolates exploded on stage. that was different. looking forward to seeing the rest of the band together! when and where are they playing again? not sure. keep watching for dates and locations! go purchase some of their music too!
