“there is pleasure in the pathless woods;
there is rapture on the lonely shore;
there is society, where none intrudes,
by the deep sea, and music in its roar:
i love not man the less, but nature more”

young people love what is interesting and odd, no matter how true or false it is. more mature minds love what is interesting and odd about truth. Fully mature intellects, finally, love truth, even when it appears plain and simple, boring to the ordinary person; for they have noticed that truth tends to reveal its highest wisdom in the guise of simplicity.

fear and desires
unknown
for such an “unromantic” man, Hitchcock was incredibly seductive in his work. iconic images abound in his films. will we ever look at cropdusters the same way? “Strangers on a Train”, written by Patricia Highsmith is something that has occurred to all of us and that’s the thing about him – everything he films has the creepiness we all fear and the desires we all have. his insistence on appearing as a guest in his films is quite clever – one rarely realizes he has passed by but somehow that profile with its cascading lips makes itself known and makes us shiver. the Poe of film!
ps enjoy a little creepingelm in your life.

hide, hide everyday in this mystical place of nowhere... CreepingElm
CreepingElm
ps thought this to be a double sided bench where I sit daily. i call it my bench. However, it is a horse jump no longer in use. i love discoveries in the middle of nowhere. maximus dug a hole to keep himself cool. Each day it gets a little bit deeper. hehehe maybe he will dig a hole to secret land just for me.

woodstock handmade houses
before woodstock became known worldwide for the most famous music festival of all time, it was a quiet town in rural new york that artisans, painters, musicians and freethinkers called home. they lived off the land and made things by hand- even their homes. they used local stone, wood and scavenged materials to create shelters that are as unique as they are impressive- ranging from the cave-like dens and teepees to cabins and stone structures. these homes are documented in the book “woodstock handmade houses” and turning the pages is like stepping into one hidden world after another, imagining all the stories each sanctuary holds. it is a constant source of inspiration that will never age.

band of horses
the first track off of the much anticipated infinite arms titled ‘compliments.’
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNITy3dlbJI
I’m fixing a drink in the morning
With the way things are, you may have stayed too long
It’s splitting a part at the seams from the hospital call
You’ve known him so long
If there’s a God up in the air
Someone looking over everyone
At least you’ve got something to fall back on
And deep in the heart of the country
Was a house I built from logs
A raven and a lady call
I’m quiet and calm through the day
See the sun burn through the hall
Approaching was a yellow dog
If there’s a God up in the air
Someone looking over everyone
At least you’ve got something to fall back on
And what are people really for?
Does anybody even care?
I bet you get a lot of compliments down there
If there’s a God up in the air
Someone looking over everyone
At least you’ve got something to fall back on
And do you got something to say?
Is it something coming over you?
And do you got important things left to do?
