ferraby lionheart @ the echo 10.05.10

an evening spent at the echo was all worth it as i listened to 4 amazing singers... ferraby lionheart was one of them. from los angeles to nashville and back to la, the music seems to reflect lionheart's real life travels as he dabbles in folk and indie rock without really seeming to fit into either category. maybe this is the secret to making a more enjoyable album. he's touring in support of his second full-length, the jack of hearts, which he composed in nashville. songs like "pocketknife" present lionheart's folky twang and lyrical sincerity with the utmost accessibility, which is also found on songs like "my name" and "arkansas" that slow down the approach and unfold with more precision, albeit with less forthright infectiousness.
i will continue to follow ferraby and share his music on blip.fm, http://blip.fm/CreepingElm
