on march 24, 2014 joshua james and evan coulombe landed in los angeles from australia and announced a very last minute show for that evening at the hotel cafe, which we were lucky enough to attend. we will also be catching joshua and evan for one more l.a. show this week at the troubadour {sorry viewers this one's sold out}.
if you happen upon this page mr. james i must loudly whisper suggestively that you slip in one of your modest mouse covers this thursday please. hmmmmm.... maybe styrofoam boots, out of gas, or dramamine.
joshua james' songs are played often at my homestead, as it helps me live through my neurological suffocation.
thank you much for making beautiful music!
for the first year anniversary of his passing, members of songs: ohia and magnolia electric co. performed with m. c. taylor as a tribute to their departed friend jason molina. the lighting at the church on york (a hundred year old building recently transformed into an artistic space/music venue) remained dark, only uplit from the back. perhaps this lighting was symbolic, keeping the spotlight on molina. the room was filled with jason's spirit by long time bandmates, friends, and fans through song.
